Institute for
AI and Robotics

We explore how people can live and work alongside AI agents and robots, and what this means for organisations and society. Education, analysis and practical experience connect our work.

We connect education with practice. We believe that modern technology should serve the wellbeing of both organisations and individuals.

Our purpose

Helping society prepare for collaboration with AI.

How should people and AI share tasks and decisions? Who remains responsible, and what skills will people need? These questions matter to businesses, public institutions, schools and individuals.

The Institute for AI and Robotics brings together technical, economic and ethical perspectives on these questions. We are a professional and educational initiative based in the Czech Republic and operated by RETAILYS GROUP a.s.

Our work

Sharing knowledge and examining its implications.

Education

Training, lectures and workshops

Education is a central way we bring the institute's ideas into practice. We help teams, teachers, students and the public develop practical skills and discuss the wider implications of AI. Participants' questions also inform our further work.

Analysis

People, AI and society

Our articles connect technical knowledge with questions about work, decision-making, responsibility and education. We aim to build on these with deeper analyses and case studies, making sources, methods and limitations clear.

Practical experience

Agents, robots and organisations

We examine how people collaborate with AI agents and physical robots: which tasks to delegate, how to organise oversight and how to assess a system's actual contribution. Consultations and dialogue with practitioners keep these questions grounded.

Our educational programmes are designed for Czech-speaking audiences. This page introduces the institute to international contacts and prospective partners.

An international perspective

Technology develops within a society.

Visits to technology companies in the US and China and first-hand experience of these regions inform our lectures and discussions.

We consider how approaches to developing and adopting technology differ across the US, China and Europe, and what those differences mean for organisations, education and everyday life.

The institute and Retailys

Connecting practical development with broader questions.

Retailys develops a platform for collaboration between people and AI agents in organisations. The institute addresses the educational, ethical and social questions surrounding that collaboration.

Practical experience provides questions for analysis and teaching. Our conclusions should be guided by evidence, including when the appropriate recommendation is to limit, postpone or avoid a particular use of AI.
